Emily Blickem hails from Pekin, Illinois by way of Ely, UK and heads up mad&bad films.

 

Schooled in the shadow of the ‘Ship of the Fens’ in the flat lands of East Anglia, her summer visits back home to the cornfields of the Mid West provided a contrasting childhood experience, an experience that would later vividly shape the characters and backdrop for her writing.

Her journey behind the camera started when she discovered the joy of collaboration with a passionate group of filmmakers, producing a number of short films for festivals and fun. The experiences gained managing these low budgets make for some great bar stool stories, and built the foundation of her career.

She moved into features & tv, and has coordinated projects from development through to the final moments of post-production. Her time in these roles brought with it a great sense of fulfilment and utilising these skills, in combination with her love of story-telling, she has an eclectic mix of projects bubbling to the surface.
